Been working on a 91 auto talon turbo race car project for year or so now. It is a track only trailer car. First things did to it was to gut it out. Took off pretty much all interior behind front doors, passenger seat, belts,Left for now dash,console ,door panels and headliner.

Took out front bumper support and replaced with jm fab bumper support. Took out cruise,abs, windshield wipers and pumps.Gone to mini battery in jm fab holder.Running mitshimoto rad and shroud with dual slimlines from same company. Jm fab coolant overflow is on order.
Fuel system is jm fab fuel tank,custom lines,reg,filter,rail from FFWD. Running 1150 FIC injectors. Suspension is kyb agx ,getting eibach pro kit for springs. Brakes are upgraded to 2g ,powerslot rotors and kvr pads,stainless lines.
No sway bars. Exhaust is megan 3inch downpipe, no catback.
Corbeau fx1 race seat on order. Will have rollbar to be track legal to 10 seconds.Race belt of course.
Aem boost controller and aem wideband, autometer z series fuel pressure guage and egt guage.
Dsmlink for tuning. Jm fab catch can and will be running jm fab race intake. Plan to run 2.4 from my 97 talon with likely my FP3065 also from my 97. Tial 44 gate and tial blow off. Extreme turbo fmic is planned not sure about alc injection.
Not sure about wheels and tires. Have line on some super light weight 15s might go with them if they clear the 2g brakes.
Also plan on shift kit, end clutch kit, stall converter and welded center diff. Hoping stock trans can live for a bit.
Down the road may look at axles and driveshaft from driveshaft shop and possibly cf hood,fiberglass hatch and lightweight back hatch glass.
Goals are to run 10s hopefully eventually low 10s. No desire to run 9s ever.
Hope to track this year shortly with maybe stock 13g just for a laugh mostly. But maybe can set a 13g record. Took car to track last year but got rained out and had to go home with not even one pass.

Anyway car should be fun and will post some pics of it and later on maybe some track videos.
Oh forgot 2.4 engine from my 97 talon has crower 280 cams, jm fab race intake,wiseco pistons, crower rods,arp hardware,etc.

Plans are to go to 2.3 in the 97 with balance shafts and maybe a fp3052 or equivalent.Get something a bit more street oriented.
Powerband with 3065 is a bit high up for me.

For a race car, its proven that the 2.0L will make more power, and cut better ETs, along with being the most reliable.

I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at the powerband being too high with a FP3065, Reza's hits like a 16G to me........on a 2L

Nice to be back. Never really gone have lurked a bit.
I will start taking some pics of the 91 shortly. And some progress pics as it gets finished up.
I was going to go 2.0 build but figure just use the 2.4 and then get 2.3 for the street car and likely leave my balance shafts in it. Can get kevlar balancer shafts for 2.3 and not for 2.4.

I still have a dead 97 parked in garage. Its either blown up clutch or spun bearing. If spun bearing then will rebuild the 2.4
and put it in race car. If clutch then likely drive it this season and put 2.3 in it next spring and then transplant the 2.4 into race car. Just run race car on stock 2.0 for this season. Point is to have fun not to try to be fastest talon in canada.
As said a 10 second goal is all I ever want from the race car.
9s is way too much work, rollcage, sfi everything, medicals.

I have mostly been working on my 99 twin turbo trans am project last few years and its near done. Its a completely insane car with capability to push 1700 engine hp with 1400 hp turbos and 300 direct port nitrous. But likely keeping it to a more sane 1000 engine hp for street most of the time and maybe go up to 1250 or so on dyno. It is plated,driven frequently and will be tracked and dynoes this season hopefully. Still deciding if going to put rollbar into it but now think will just for safety and could then go to 10.0 at track although that car will likely run 8s and need a parachute ,etc.

Anyway will be on the board a bit more now.Have few things to sell and few things want to be buy. Definitely love my dsms and will stick with them.

Oh and think reason I think the fp3065 powerband is not the best for street is guess used to my v8 powerbands. My v8s of course have big torque from like 2000 up.I also had a 50 trim on my 92 talon and liked it on the street. Even an evo 16 is pretty wicked but like to have at least 500 engine hp.

Here is pic of 99TT engine compartment showing the direct port nitrous. You can't see the turbos they are mounted low down and the intercooler you can only see the neck of it and the twin turbo script. It runs two turbosmart supersonic blow offs non recirced and two tial 38mm external gates. Turbos are two modified by Forced perfomance 20g td06 variants pushing 70lb/min with billet wheels and bigger housings.

Stripped out 91

Need to take some upgrade pics of the 91 soon. Today am working on installation of the jm fab fuel tank, FFWD fuel lines and and adjustable reg and custom rail and the 1150 FIC injectors.

Brakes are done just have to put stainless lines on them. As said they are powerstop rotors with kvr pads and have done the 2g brake swap.

Waiting on eibach pros then will put in the new kyb agx shocks.Had used ones they are for sale but decided to go brand new on most all the race car parts.
Running no sway bars.

Exhaust is simply 3 inch megan downpipe no catback.

Guages and electronics are not installed yet but sitting here. Have aem boost controller, aem wideband, autometer egt, incar fuel pressure.

Have corbeau fx1 seat on order. Should be here in week or so.Hoping its not too wide to fit with stock door panel and stock console. Wanted to mabye leave those in.But guess if have to go aluminum door panel or no console would, it is after all a track only race car.

Going to send in my old dsmlink for the new one and going to run speed density 3 bar for now.

Be ordering up new intercooler of course from extreme turbo systems have one of theirs on my 97 talon. And have to order up the trans stuff . Shift kit,end clutch kit, stall converter and welded center diff.Get that stuff from IPT.

I also have installed mishimotor rad and mishimotor twin fans and aluminum shroud.And got jm fab coolant overflow on order and will be getting their cool catch can that mounts where windshield wiper motor goes.

Just bought a new tow vehicle and guess borrow or rent a car trailer for next while. Not sure yet when will be taking the 91 to track but would think within next month or two. Hoping to do about 3 or 4 track visits with it this season but some might be on 13g as said mostly just for fun and to shake down the car a bit.I have 14b that can use, fp3065 on my 97 that could borrow or could get an evo 16 maybe to play with this season. Don't care about how fast I run this year just want to go have fun.

Working on car today and last few days. The Jm fab fuel tank is in there and its a work of art. Got all the FFWD fuel setup in just putting in rail today and the big injectors.Likely have car fired up today just have to set car for the new injectors with my dsmlink.

Ordered an 8 point 1g rollbar from competition engineering half price thru dsmparts.com

Also have nice jm fab coolant overflow bottle just showed up from UPS yesterday. Guy does fantastic work.

Got the jm fab fuel tank in the car. It fit great bolts right onto stock studs. My supra tt pump dropped right into it. Very simple plug and play. Dropped pretty good weight and it looks super racy .You can see it hanging from back of car have to take another pic of that.
Ran all the stainless lines from the FFWD fuel system. It consists of AN fittings, stainless feed line to billet filter and then to rail, customized powdercoated stock rail and sx adjustable reg threaded right into rail.
Put in the 1150 injectors and also put in a ported rebuilt
tb that got off ebay.I don't run fiav or isc crap. I use total block off plate also from JMFAB.

Rollbar showed up today. Think maybe should wait for my corbeau forza seat before welding in the bar. That will be another week or so till seat gets here.

I realize could have kept the pics a bit more logical but just throwing out pics as requested.

I still also have my 97 talon but have to fix it ,its been sitting in garage dead for a few years now. Possibly,if finish up the 99TT and the 91 race car enough for now will tear into the 97 talon and get it fixed. Its either fubared clutch or spun bearing in engine.Hoping the former obviously. Clutches are simple and cheap enough.But buddy does work in machine shop so if its engine not end of the world either.

Corbeau forza seat showed up yesterday.

Ok the corbeau seat is in the 91. Will take some pics in a day or so.
I wound up getting the corbeaus forza wide .It fits good in the 91 and still have center console and door panel and it shouldn't
be a problem with the rollbar but might get swingout kit for drivers side.

It is pretty comfortable and much nicer than those summit cheapy
fiberglass drag seats. It was plug and play with the made for car bracket.I got sliders with double locking. I may have madea mistake there.The seat seems to take a lot to move back and forth.

Maybe it will loosen up as move it a bit more ,it was pretty heavy greased in the tracks.

Ok , filled up the 91 with antifreeze since drained it out for the mitsumoto rad swap. Filled it with gas as drained it out for the fuel system mods.

Went to fire it and had leaking at new rail and reg junction.Also had no spark! Repaired wiring that had broken on water temp or whatever sensor that is on the christmas tree thing
and then buddy found out that cam sensor had two broken wires.
Man these wires on these cars get so brittle with age and heat.

Setup up for the big injectors with my dsmlink and fired up the car and it ran like crap. Then remembered also threw on a rebuilt ,ported tb and had to reset tps and idle bleed screw and stuff.
Now its running fine ,pulling high vacuum on still stock engine.
So looking good.
Can't tune the car on street unfortunately ,trailer only car so have to tune at track.
But at least now it is track ready. Shame local track is like 500km round trip so not sure when exactly will take the 91 on its maiden voyage. Pretty much think going to run 13g for first couple track trips. Just for something to do.

Will take a few more pics of some of the newer mods installed in next day or two.

Selling Corbeau forza wide to buddy for his 67 camaro.Its too wide ,it hits the emergency brake and rubs on the center console.
Going to try a baja jp seat. Its a bit narrower and should be easier to get into and out of the car with it. Also going with removable wheel setup. that should also help.

Possibly going to order new ETS front mount intercooler this month and still not sure if moving FP3065 off my 97 over to the race car for temporary or permanent. Am hoping to run the race car this month at 1/8 or 1/4 mile track.

Well ordered konig 16 by 7 britelite mags aluminum with black.
Not sure what tires to get yet.
Also just ordered dsmlink version 3 so will be running open loop speed density full time.
Expected date on the baja jp corbeau is about two more weeks.Hoping its a better fit with console and stock door panel.
Maybe won't need to get removable wheel.

Having a hard time picking out which turbo want to go with .Think will leave the FP3065 on my 97 talon.
Think want to go with fp red or fpr 3575. Fp red is think cheaper but not sure can get the nice wastegate setup that have on hte Fpseries.If can't then would go with internal gate or maybe punsishment 02 dump ,38 tial setup.

New konigs showed up and look good.Ordered some tires but forget which ones,tireshop guy I know picked them for me. Just a high perf street tires for now.Maybe get stickier ones next season after get a 4 bolt rear end and maybe stronger axles.
Will take some pics of the new tires and mags on the car .

Ordered ground control coilovers as well.

Hoping to get the big turbo in next month or so.FP RED is the current choice with punishment 02 with vband tial 38 gate dumped
to atmosphere.

Not sure when running car this season. Some family troubles are making things uncertain. But want to keep finishing it up and for sure be ready for next season.

Working again on the 91.Installed the kyb agx and the ground control coilovers. Slick setup and easy to install with impact ,just used my cordless one from Canadian Tire. Love that thing!
Be careful the fronts are under pretty good pressure!
So just stainless brake lines to install then bolt on the new konigs.Tires are continental extreme contact dws Didn't want anything too sticky until get welded center diff and 4 bolt rear end and maybe better axles.

Now thinking to use my fp3065 and mabye get hta 3065 on the 97 talon.
FP red is not that cheap and they don't offer the nice 02 setup that the 3065 and similar turbos have.

Ok good progress. Brakes finished put on stainless lines.Suspension finished, tires and wheels finished. Might run some more drag type tires later on but for now these are fine.
Got my new dsmlink v3 working good so can go to speed density and be done with mafs.

So now get rollbar done hopefully soon so can put race belt in.
And soon start swap of the fp3065 into the 91 with the jm fab intake manifold. Get the big intercooler ordered and get the transmission stuff ordered and installed and would be ready to rock and roll. But running out of season so unlikely will track the car this year but sure be totally ready for next season.

Late season update. Unfortunately didn't get to run the 91 this year at track. Just couldn't quite get things together in time and would have ran on stock 13g turbo so really likely would have been pretty boring slow times anyway.

I did get the ETS intercooler month or so back,didn't install it. I had the car up and running on the upgraded dsmlink with the fic 1150s but still have not converted over to speed density that will happen when install the intercooler.

Still bit up in air on what turbo to use. So far thinking still run fp3065 off my 97 and also the race jm fab intake from the 97.
Over winter will order the rest of the trans stuff shift kit,stall,welded center diff and end clutch kit.

And still need to get rollbar installed as need it in to run the race belt. There is no provision for stock belt on the corbeau seat.

Also have some installation left on the new guages and Aem wideband and boost controller.But happy with what did get finished up,brakes,suspension,fuel system,wheels and tires,dsmlink upgrade,cooling system.

Not sure about engine just yet either. May swap in 2.4 from 97 talon or may build 2.0 for the this car.Might seee how long the stock 6 bolt can last since only trying to do 10 something with this build.

In other news my 99 twin turbo ta developed engine problem few weeks ago. Looks like some bearing problems on the 408. So decided to yank the 408 over winter,fix and sell it and go with 427 this time around. Should be nasty fun.

And sometime still need to find time to fix up my 97 talon its been parked a couple of years now with either problem on the 2.4 spun bearing or fubared up clutch.Course if borrrow some parts off the 97 to put on the 91 talon then the 97 could be down even longer. Just too many other projects to work on ,worry about.

So, all these "race cars" and yet I don't see any times?

I'd like to see what this Full out FP3065 Race car" can do...

Why are you sticking with the 3065? Have you thought about going with something like a Holset HX-40, BW S352, GT3586 or something of that nature?

Well spring again and hoping to finally run my 91 race talon this season. Still so far on stock 13g but would run for fun and just to drive the car,then worry about being fast. Still think run fp3065 from 97 talon,it should be plenty enough to get 10s in the lightened 91.And no plans to go faster than 10s ever in the 91. Just putting in six point rollbar not full cage.And not into medicals and all that crap that you need to do for under 10.0. Also moving to BC next spring and will be running at 1/8 mile track called Thunder Mountain.. Prefer 1/4 mile but its only 15 minutes out.That is much better ,no hotels,less gas and if get rained out not a big deal.

Also busy working on my 99Twin turbo trans am installing new 427 engine in that one shortly. And picked up a new toy as well
few weeks ago. Leaving this one stock enginewise for at least 5 years or so till warranty runs out.



Still have my crazy 97 talon ,that car currently has the fp3065 on it but its been down a few years now with think blown clutch. Just too many other projects and vehicles to worry about it but maybe this year. Not sure if selling my 97 talon or keeping it.
I do love having a turbo awd and my 91 turbo awd talon is race only car.
