hey guys

I am looking at replacing my summer daily driver w/ a 2005+ CLK500 convertible or 2003+ CL500 ... not sure if anyone here is looking for a larger automatic car on these forums, but here it goes

Black on black S500 w140 coupe (also known as 500SEC or CL500 depending on the world market it was sold in), 32v 5.0L V8 (very reliable M119 engine), 325hp/345 lb/ft torque, 5spd auto transmission, just turned 200k a few weeks ago. It has 0.9" thick dual pane windows, self closing doors and trunk, orthopedic seats, traction ctrl, skid control, pre-tensioner seat belt, seat belt hand over arms, charcoal climate control filter + additional odour filter (if you are stuck behind a smelly exhaust, this little button makes the smell go away smile

despite being a 2 door , it's a very large & wide car (just under 17ft long and 6ft wide but feels very nimble and sporty) .. there is no B pillar when front and rear windows are down

it gets between 11.3-12.5L/100km (the latter being mostly city), engine speed is 1000 rpm at 60km/h and 1600 @ 100km/h

maintenance and service records available & up to date, clean and accident free body, local Cdn car w/ carfax .. owned for just under 4 years, winter stored and summer driven.. Krown oil sprayed every spring. Shocks and springs are new, engine mounts, stabilizer bar bushings and power door lock pumps are new as well. Alternator is recently rebuilt, transmission serviced (9L of dealer MB fluid), has 18" AMG rims (real AMG not knock offs), drives straight, solid

does not need repair, or work. As far as maintenance, I find it to be easier to work on than my dsm. It's a very DIY friendly car and there are a lot of great forums with FAQ and knowledge base material

it has all S600 options including rear sun shade, suede headliner, wood/leather steering wheel, full leather stitched dash, OEM 11 spkr Bose stereo (sounds amazing), self closing doors, etc

parts are pretty affordable. See the prices here:

example:

Oil filter: $17
Brake pads: $116 fr set, $65 rear set
etc

$10,500 - It will be sold certified, e-tested, carfax an UVIP included as well. I will also have a MB diagnostic computer hooked up at the shop and do a full scan in front of you so you can see none of the ECUs have any stored error codes in them. Only other one available on Kijiji is a 97 w/ lower km for $4000 more

In the interest of being 100% honest with board members here, I will list the issues that I have observed over the years:

*Passenger mirror does not fold (needs a mirror assembly but if you don't care about folding it closed you are fine)
*Passenger door self close has stopped working, you have to manually close it like any other car (diagnosis is a faulty close assist actuator inside door which I have bought and will be included).. here's the DIY: http://www.k6jrf.com/MB_Close_Assist.html (I have already bought and replaced the pump as well)
*splash guard is missing (you need to remove it when you do oil changes), never bothered replacing it. It's a plastic cover that fits under the oil pan basically
*stitching has come undone on passenger seat cushion (about 1") no rips though
*tiny bubbles near sunroof
*stone chips on front bumper and few scratches on the rear bumper
*some curb rash on the rims
