I'm having issues trying to remove the heater core. I removed my dash and lots of bolts and screws that I think its holding down the heater core. Can't wiggle anything free, think something is still holding it down. Do I need to remove the a/c evaporator core and the blower to get access?

Thank You

Is it completely free on the engine bay side? All the hoses/clamps disconnected and any possible bolts that might be holding it in?

Ahh, if you've taken care of that I can't be of much more help - I've only ever tinkered with heater cores on a 1G and like you said, those clamps/hoses are a real PITA after 20-30 years of being baked in place. Silly question, but do you have a factory service manual?

https://www.scribd.com/document/17887620/97-99ECB is the 2G manual. Section 55-24 (55 in general) has the heater core assembly but it really doesn't show much in the way of attachment points for the core itself.

When parted out my 2Gb Spyder, i don't recall having issues removing heater core. I'm pretty sure all heater cores are likely same for all 2Gs
However, everything was removed at that time including blower, ac, etc.
You may very well need to remove more parts. Since it's mostly plastic, you could push/pulls different mounting points on the core and it should lead you to tight spots that likely have another bolt that you cannot see.

Finally got the heater core out, practically everything like the hvac controls, few hidden c clips, screws, brackets, bottom heat vents had to move so the heater box can drop to get access. Struggled 3 days trying to get the new heater core to fit. Couldn't get the damn thing installed, ended up ordering different name brand and it fit perfectly. Only thing left to do is put the dash back in now.

In the future for those who needs to change there heater core don't use this piece of S*** APDI/PRO 9010420. The pipe bends are little off, it wont sit properly in the heater box and hits the firewall. Get SPECTRA PREMIUM 94807, it fits perfectly without any issues.
Also Flexible Wire Long Reach Hose Clamp Pliers works really nice getting those 2 heater hose clamps off in tight spaces.

Thanks
