You guys staying at the plantation next year? prices for hotels seem to have gone up.

I stayed in Milan this year.....I think it was a Quality Inn. They had an indoor pool and a hot tub .

We stayed at the Super 8 in Milan last year, night place but the price went from like $420 to $700, so to hell with that.

EDIT: just tried again and booked at $326 USD so I have room for 3 guests.

Hopefully we can get more DsMs this year.. last year's group was an Evo fest..

They are making it so we have to sell our parts in a swap meet area only.. away from the race cars.. if this is they way it is.. I will be bummed.. it'dy favorate part.

I would have went this year if it weren't for the dumb rules like having a full belly pan in my class. I don't think I'll ever make a pan... Car is getting a cage and parachute done next week... Would be nice if they relaxed the rules a little...

I don't think they even inspected for pans, except for the big boys.

Thank Gabriel Ruiz for that. You can also run a diaper instead of a pan, Kevin Jewer is making some really nice ones that aren't really intrusive.

Just booked Super 8. Finally, this will be my first Shootout.

After a 15 yr absence I hope to make my triumphant return, I say this to myself every yr, but dam it this yr in the immortal words of Douglas Macarthur I shall return lol

I never went to Shootout before but last year i made a promise that i will!
I saved up all my vacation to ensure i have enough time to drive from LA to GTA
and than re-group with all of you and head south to the Shootout like this:


Here is the plan so far, i will arrive in slow evo X on Monday Aug 13th (Nice cruising times LA to GTA).
I will have few days to hang around the city before big day.
Big day starts on Thursday morning Aug 16th ...travel day! The plan is to have as many cars/members going together(as shown above^).
We'll have walkie-talkies between few cars to arrange stops for gas/food/leaks

This will open-up space for more DSMers to join and help you on the cost. If you can still book your own rooms please do it asap.

This getting old sucks. Totally missed the last post by Jason. I guess can't knock a guy for going to see family!

In approximately 9 hours from now i will begin driving to SO from LA and just to be clear i will be going there directly without stopping in GTA.
I will try to keep this post updated with my progress but if all goes according to plan i will meet Jason D and Terry S sometime early Friday morning and shortly after everyone else.
