Hoping we can sticky this so no other person suffers the fate I have suffered!!

I am sure there is someone out there that will do like I did (hopefully not) and just read the code on the transmission and assume that's what's inside. These days buying someone else project you never know what you are getting so there are some checks that need to be made.

The one check I wish I knew before opening up my trans was checking the center diff. Here is how you tell what transmission internals you have.
The one on the left is a 91+ center diff and the one on the right is a 90 diff. Notice the marking on the teeth.
