I disagree. Will it work? Yes, is it optimal? No.

I have a dual voltage machine and 110 greatly reduces it's capacity. Even on thinner material it just seems to run smoother on the 220v than on 110v.

It's not a big investment to get 220v and I wouldn't want to not have full use of my machine because it couldn't get the power it needed.
