Awesome Alex! What made you pick the MR vs GSR?
As for the warranty, I'd probably do it. Parts are damn expensive on this car when they break!
Does the powertrain cover your ACD/AYC Pump? I guess since you're away from the salt.. you should be fine.. but that's one of the common problems lots of guys have had.
My clutch master cylinder blew last weekend. Went in for a recall service 6 months ago on it too... Not covered because I have an aftermarket clutch.
Thanks Mike, Here is why i chose MR: - my wife can drive it when i need outlander - 6 speed vs 5 speed GSR. Lower rpms on highway - Love the engineering behind SST. It also does launch control like GSR - MRs are usually less abused than GSR when buying used. - better squipped than GSR. Came with HID, remote entry, fosgate sound, leather - like the MR emblem Still haven't had a chance to red line her but shifts are crisp and quick, love it

Glad you got one Alex, congrats! You'll get used to the suspension quick. I find it to be just perfect for daily driving. I didn't get the extended warranty with mines, but the only thing that does worry me is the ACD pump which seems like might need replacing at around 100k if it fails. Other than that I'd only want the extended warranty for the SST tranny. I am not too worried about my GSR as the trans is pretty stout. Even if something were to ever happen, it would be pretty easy for me to rebuild If you plan on modding it, I wouldn't worry about the extra warranty.

I figured you would of got it in red enjoy your new toy Thanks Terry! Evo X looks best in White Thanks Gui! Wow Alex! I think you made the right call going MR for the reasons you mention. Congrats! Thanks Mike! Glad you got one Alex, congrats! You'll get used to the suspension quick. I find it to be just perfect for daily driving. I didn't get the extended warranty with mines, but the only thing that does worry me is the ACD pump which seems like might need replacing at around 100k if it fails. Even if something were to ever happen, it would be pretty easy for me to rebuild If you plan on modding it, I wouldn't worry about the extra warranty. Thanks Reza. I decided not to go with extended warranty. You right I heard how expensive SST is when it goes down so I'll be looking at some sort of powertrain extended warranty right before my factory expires. Suspension is not problem at all now that I've been driving it for few days. Just need to avoid big potholes. Handling in the Evo is unmatched to anything else i driven. So far i am very satisfied that i got an Evo X Congrats on a nice ride! A tough call on the extended warranty-usually I tell friends to say no as they are a huge money maker for stealerships; except when buying something that has a poor reliability record. And the SST has had a higher percentage of failure than many other transmissions. $12,000 for a new one=yikes! That being said, Jacks Transmissions now rebuilds them for reasonable $. But looked after I believe there's no reason they shouldn't last, so get the fluid and filter changed soon-don't wait for the reccommended interval! Thanks Wade. I decided against the warranty. I can fix small stuff as they brake but I just want to avoid spending big dollars on major drivetrain parts. so I am happy with powertrain for now. BTW recommended oil/filter change interval for SST is 30k miles. Looks like i need to change it now. thanks Dave

The seats in my Hyundai are sportier and have more character than that... Here is one thing i learned about EVO! After you drive it for awhile you do get that the most amazing thing about EVO is handling, AWD, turbo, and much more responsive 4B11T engine than 4g63 in a DSM. Seats, HID, stereo, are nice but it's only 10% of what EVO really is. As a comparison, it spools way sooner than 2G with T25 and pulls even harder than EVO3 16G. I think stock boost is about 25psi but it drops below 20 near readline.

I bought mines in December 2013. I think it was built September 2013. Good thing is I got it with the few recalls already done, like upgraded CMC. Haven't had any issues with it at all , and just like you mentioned, all the extra bells and whistles are not really what make the Evo. You buy this vehicle for the performance aspects of it. Words can't explain how well this car drives!

Goods news, no need to worry about those ACD's anymore. The warranty is being extended to 10 years, 160,000 kms http://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ulic-unit-warranty-extension-issued.html

Yes, it says it is transferable on the TSB.
I would imagine the warranty is active 10 years from the purchase date, regardless of ownership.

Looks like his OEM Yoka Advans still have a lot of meat on them. Its a very sticky quick wearing tire, but no where close to looking like slicks. Trying to make your own slicks Alex? Yep those are stock Yokohama ADVAN A13C Ultra High Performance Summer 245/40R18 tires with 40,000 miles. Expensive tires to replace thats for sure. I may as well drive them to the wires lol BTW here is how EVO X stock wheels looks on 2G: Looks clean Alex, lucky your in Cali. I have already rust proofed the undercarriage twice myself since buying it last December.
I also consider rust proofing her just in case if I need to permanently move back to GTA. After meeting with Terry S. and Mike Degli Angelis i want to purchase this product and spray sensitive areas in the engine bay and undercarriage. Thanks again Mike Degli Angelis

Well I think ziggy actually mentions this on his site, that lowering springs will reduce the life of your shocks cause your essentially using them in a zone that they weren't originally designed for.
