Well the left side (looking at the car) would be blocked off as it's a seperate piece. I am also pretty sure that the right side is already blocked off too so the light doesn't bleed through as the what's left on the right is the turn signal.
Hey Roman, you think you can take a picture head on?

Looks really nice. I must say. Missing a headlight not only helps with the intake temps, but does look pretty badass.
I got a set of 2g talon headlights I'm gonna practice on. With the 2g lights being round, I'm assuming it won't be quite as easy.

My engine is pretty much ready to drop in, just need to try and remove one broken bolt (for the driver side inner axle carrier bearing) and then bolt on the pp/clutch/flywheel and she's done. Awaiting tranny rebuild parts currently, so in the meantime I'm going to do some wiring and just clean things up. The car was 99% stock when I got it, but that 1% was a hackjob, so fixing that...thankfully it was mainly just some wiring that needs repairing.

Oh boy. Salomom what happened to get youcar to this state of disassemble? Clutch/tranny issues. Decided since the tranny was coming out anyways to take it all out in one go. Engine is all cleaned up with lots of new gaskets and fresh seals and plenty of shiny new bolts. (I am/was REALLY tired of leaks and all the grime from all the leaks and melted alternator belts, etc.) Engine bay is currently being cleaned and may get a VERY minor wire tuck of sorts, if I feel adventurous. New clutch/pp/flywheel and a 'new' clutch pedal assembly with a modified brake pedal. Spare tranny is being rebuilt. Oil pressure gauge is being wired in and I've now switched to an external oil cooler. The list is long...but as long as she's ready for the Shootout I don't care.

Nice work Sal! What does the above involve? As I'm sure you know full well, the brake pedal on our cars are pretty tiny which in itself isn't an issue, but between the tiny pedal and the large space between the gas and brake pedals, it makes heel-toe very sketchy and difficult to do consistently. So...I'm welding an extension on to the right side of the brake pedal so that it closes up that gap a little bit. Probably 1-1.5" wider. Then I'll clean it up and coat it with that bed liner/rock guard stuff to have it be nice and grippy.

Nice sounds good, are you going to drop the brake down at all, the height difference is what I seem to have issues with.

Nope, as you'll really only need heel-toe under harder braking (if you're doing light braking then chances are you aren't planning on downshifting) and therefore that 'gap' will be mostly gone, not that would matter anyways. Just angle your foot more. I've never never had issues with heel-toe caused by the 'fore/aft' gap, just the spacing between the pedals side-to-side.

That's a good point, I usually am goofing around when I am heel toeing so I am not really braking that hard.

the wire tuck isn't nearly as tough as it seems. if you need any pictures just let me know. as long as you can solder ( and I believe you can) then your golden. True, it just takes patience. Also, I did mine without any soldering(other than extending the feed lines to the fuse box), I simply bundled and tucked excess wiring, less chance of electrical issues than from spliced wiring, even soldered joints sometimes crack. I'm not sure it's 100% relevant with the dsm ecu, but on some of the industrial equipment I worked on, the wiring length was taken into consideration on the signal from certain sensors, so changing lengths effected the signal of some circuits by changing the resistance.
