Favourite games of all time based on genre;

Sports: NHL 94, this is the 2nd edition of easports nhlpa and 94 technically kicked off the entire NHL series as we know it today. It's graphics were 2D but seemed like 3D for it's time. Awesome game play, all the right players with stats and the only missing (from nhlpa '93) was the fighting aspect frown but a legendary game none the less.

RPG (for you newbs, that's roll playing game): frack so many to choose from. N64's original mario bros 3D was good, Zelda on the 32 bit NES, super metroid, resident evil series until it got gay (after the 3rd one), so many hours invested..but if I had the choice to pick up a controller and re-play my wonder years, I'd have to go back to the resident evil days. I got my dad addicted to it. We would play it until 2-3am on school nights with the lights off and both get scared LOL..

Racing game: mario kart 64 is a multiplayere classic!! BUT, I'm not sure if you guys recall a racing game called TOP GEAR. It came out before the original Gran Turismo. It was the first racing game that you could upgrade your car, race for money and buy better parts (ie. Turbos, tires, ect...) The music in that game is addicting aswell. Hours will pass by and your thumbs will blister tongue

Fighting game: mortal kombat series ftw! Arcade style. I remember learning all the finishing moves, babality, animality...street fighter aint got sh!t on the MK series to this day tongue

First person shooter: easy!!! GOLDEN EYE N64!! It's default controller setting is inverted looking and to this day, I switch my controller setting on EVERY FPS game to inverted. I'm more accurate that way wink

I may have missed something here..I'll get back to this later tongue

How can you mention RPGs and not recall or mention Chrono Trigger!?

One of the best, if not THE BEST, RPG of all time on the SNES. They ported it over to the PS1 I believe as well.

That game had multiple endings so multiple play throughs were worth it with different timelines like the choose your own adventure books.

Awesome game, I'd play it again.

Golden Eye was awesome. Skipped many a classes in highschool for that one.

I really wanted to pick up some older systems just so I could play some games I missed over the years, but I think if I did that I would lose my job, family/friends after years of playing.
