I have already gutted my interior. Maybe I will look at doing this in the future!

Putting a cage in a daily driver is a bad idea. Prepare to be a big heat score.

Well I am sure there is still some more I could do for it to be considered 100% gutted, but I have basically removed everything from the front seats back. My plan was to gut the front but people were steering me away from that because of issues with wet feet and the exposed metal floor, I was thinking bed liner but I am also not sure I have the space in my garage to take all the stuff out and get in and do that. When I get more space I will probably take the time to remove and potentially upgrade the seats and do bed liner in the front so I won't have to worry about wet shoes and such. Plus I keep the mat on the passenger side, I took my out of the drivers side though.

Brian I don't know if you have heard or seen my car yet but it's already pretty obvious. I don't think the cops are observant enough to spot a 6 point cage either, it pretty much follows the lines that are already in the car, unless of course they pull up beside me.

You really don't think you could hold the car back with properly setup stock breaks and a vac pump?

I do see the weight savings and zero drag as a good advantage though.

No stock brakes won't hold back a 1000hp car thats been proven even these brakes will require a vac pump to assist.

I hope I haven't offended you Ron, but stock brakes hold back fast auto cars just fine. You don't sit at the line with 1000hp, you know that.

Quote
Brakes - use an electric vacuum pump in a racing application so you can stage the car consistently and also hold the brakes. Braking capacity should not be increased beyond this level as all you will do is then be able to easily hold enough torque to break transmission gears on the line.

Jesse and his brothers all run stock brake setups, and they seem to work just fine for them.

Machined some reducers to reduce 1 5/8ths Chrome Moly tubing down to one 1'' for the front rad support and rear supports. The front rad support is then being held in place by aero quality quick pins as will be the front trans mount! {thumbup}

[Linked Image]

Picture of the reducer Tig'd in place on the front frame support, the stock front frame rail is still being used to just past the front subframe smile
