She's ready to drop in!! Eric already posted some pictures, but I thought I might drop in a few of the brakes.

New boots, seals, etc. in the calipers. All is powdercoat.

Next weekend is the install date. So, the final mod list?

Manley Piston 9:1 CR
Manley Rods/ARP 2000 Bolts
ARP Mains and ARP L19 Headstuds
Felpro 1153-1 HG
Kelford 272 with FP Evo Beehive/Stock valves
Port/polished head
FP Race Exhaust Manifold
FP HTA Green
FIC Bluemax 1450cc Injectors/Aeromotive AFPR/Walbro 255hp

Don't really think I upgraded anything else this year. The first crank will be interesting, and my nerves will be just WRECKED until I hear a nice rumble from beneath the hood.

It's in and it runs! No leaks, but I fired it up on SD, so it runs a little rough. I've got pics and stuff but I'm way too tired to put them up right now, so they'll be up this week.

Thanks to Ghislain and Jamie Valcamp for coming out today to help!

No pics of me wearing greasy "Paws" shall be displayed on the www.

Thing started like a Top, smoked freshly painted components and finger grease marks.

No further incident to report.

I consider it textbook.

Eric and I are going out tomorrow night to fiddle a little with it. I'm going to be throwing a MAF back in to get her dialed in on those injectors as well as break the motor in.

I'll get some good shots and video for you all tomorrow. I have some startup vid, but it's not worth watching. smile

I think thing ran fine on SD; just need a little more tweaking to give her a proper break in.

Let me know if you want me to show up.

Hey, if you wanna come out around 7, that'd be great!

Found my global/deadtime settings for those injectors after a bit of research. -69 and 735 deadtime. Have to tweak the Injbatteryadj as well to get them to run right.

After you left, barely a crank and she fired right up, idling very nice.

You let a fresh motor idle after first start up??? shocked I never let rpms drop under 2.5K for the first 20minutes upon first startup, then I change the oil. Right after that I'm out for a drive and straight into boost.

You have to get it up to operating temp, I didn't let it idle for more than 5 minutes. Lucky for me I found a clamp that wasn't sealing right.

When we break in new diesel engines, we let it high idle (1200rpms) for about 30 minutes then a good loaded drive to break it in. I'm confident I didn't do any damage.

I've read the thread on Toonerz to get me started. My 1450s are the highest low impedance injectors you can run without an easytune box. Its not gonna be easy.

Shakedown passes on the 11th, I better have this bad boy dialed in!

Well I finally got her on the road now! She's one quick feeling machine! This motor loves the high RPMs, and I definitely feel the difference with the 9.0:1 motor.

I have a LOT of tuning to do. Right now my spool is some slow ass sh!t, and I'm hitting 14psi at like 4700, I gotta drop that down some for sure! It does pull like nuts up top even at wastegate boost. I love these cams.

Now for all the fine tuning stuff. Pics later!

I get 20psi by 4600rpm or lower on my 3065. Did you degree the cams ?
I'd get the boost up and beat the snot out of it. My current motor was broken in at 31psi right after initial startup. Makes for a stronger motor indeed smile

Wow. Car has come a long way from the time you picked her up a few years ago.

If the previous owner saw what you did to her car... im sure she wants it back tongue

I almost forgot what 2nd and reverse gear feels like.

Maybe I'm just holding out on pics to get you guys all bent!

They're coming boys, I am just concentrating on breaking this bitch in. So far so good, she's already seen 8000rpms and I'm not being easy on it at all.

Hard on the throttle, then let the engine bring itself down, and I'm maintaining mid to high rpms as much as I can. Fvck fuel economy right now!
