There were about 6-8 of us that got stuck behind in Milton. and we turned around maybe 2-3 times, Before we got back on route. No biggy.

Yea we got separated as well in Milton, i remember that. A few of us got lost trying to find the highway, but eventually we found our way. The most important thing should be that the people at the front should pull over to the side of the road and wait in the event that a big chunk of us get stuck at a light. That way the ones left behind can easily catch up and the cruise can resume. Just a thought.

I'm itching myself to blast off some low 10's, but I just don't find it practical to be racing on this day. Maybe some other day. I'd have to pack my slicks and tools etc. into the car. Too much hassle, rather just enjoy the day instead with the car in one piece to drive home, just as it sits now

We'll see about having FRS radios for at least the lead and tail cars. That should be a big help.

I think people got lost in Milton... because everyone left Canadian Tire at a different time. Everyone wasn't ready to go when the first couple people took off.

I remember the two lefts out of the Wendy's parking lot an absolute mess. If you look at the videos, you can see how close the intersection is to the exit of the parking lot, which caused problems.

I was still trying to get a rad fan installed when everyone started leaving. the people that stayed back for that extra minute were the ones that got lost. Sorry guys...

Most people still have no clue how to travel in a group. Everyone is worried about not losing sight of the guy in front of him, and that is ass backwards. Any biker who has travelled in a club will tell you....you should be watching the person BEHIND you. If you cant see the person behind you, pull over and STOP. If they don't show up in a few minutes, turn around and go look for them. When the person in front of you notices YOU missing, they should also stop, wait, and eventually turn around. If everyone follows this "rule", the group ALWAYS ends up together. Usually this will be the result of one vehicle breaking down, and everyone will end up back at the broken down vehicle.

The staggered formation. Although it's called staggered because bikes can stay on a certain side of a lane, the general idea is the same. Just keep an eye on the person behind you. I learned about that when I was studying for my m1, it's the most efficient way of sticking together. If everyone does their job well, everyone stays together.

I wouldnt mind back tracking and meeting in sauga but I dont think I ll have enough time to properly wash the car if I do that So we definately need the stoney creek meet again. Im guna see if I can find any other better alternatives than timmies too so we dont eff this cruise up again.

Being worried about the person behind you also keeps other cars from interfering with our caravan. One thing that can really get annoying is speed, and lack of maintaining speed.

If you make sure the person behind keeps up to you, and we keep our group tight, we shouldn't have a problem with other cars joining in on our parade.

I will probably be racing Cayuga, see what my slow-ass Auto will do.

Even if someone gets into the formation, it is no biggie. You just keep going KNOWING that the guy in front of you is watching for you....if he loses total sight of you, he would pull over and let the other cars that have gotten into the formation go by..

I have seen all too often with newbie riders, where they worry about keeping up with the guy in front....so what do they do? run a yellow, and leave the rest of the group stranded to get lost. Since the guy in front of him still sees him, everyone keeps going, and only half the group arrives at the destination. If they just stopped, the rest of the group would soon notice them missing, and then either slow right down or stop to wait.....and everyone stays together..

Happened to us last year on this ride.....we ended up being just 3 or 4 cars left stranded, and finally the guy leading us pulled over to advise us he didn't know where we were going. Fortunately, some of us knew where the track was, so no biggie....but if you are going to make it a cruise and travel as a GROUP, for christ's sake, do it RIGHT...

Can't we just tie string to the cars like in pre-school?

If the cruise starts in Milton, I may be in. Personally, I want to avoid any driving on 401 Express West, as last time I was on it, there were basically large speedbumps across the lanes. Defently not good for anyone with lower profile tires. 407 it is for me.

What would the approx ETA of ariving at Cayuga be? If the weathers descent for racing that day, I'd rather spend it "racing" instead of "cruising".

Definitely, 401W is an absolute mess. I have the unpleasantry of driving it daily this month and my car hates it. So bad I have to get off and check for damage & leaks.

As for timing, I think we can get to Cayuga by 1 PM or so.

Yep, you guys can organize however you like and then join up at the main starting point.

Should make it a lot easier than last time.

We will be LEAVING Yorkdale at 9AM sharp, meeting Rob at around 10 in Milton. So if you're not there by 9AM you will know where to meet.

Belleville and East - We will meet at the timmies on Glen Miller Road (Exit 526) at 7AM and depart at 7:15 sharp. This will put us at Yorkdale in good traffic for around 8:30 to 8:45, so if anyone from east of Belleville is meeting up for the cruise, that's where we are meeting.

So I broke my right ankle at about 2pm on friday, drove around and hobbled around till about midnight thinking it was a sprain. Found out saturday this was not the case

Are you guys referring to the Timmies by the 401, right by Conestoga? If so I don't ming driving up there, meeting, and coming down together as a group. Hell, I drive there every day for classes anyways

DSM INVASION 2010 - MAPS & ITINERARY

1. Milton to Stoney Creek via SCENIC - Meet 10:00 AM, Depart 10:30 AM, 57.1 km, 1 hour 16 minutes
Starting point is the west parking lot at the Canadian Tire plaza in Milton, right beside the water tower at Esquesing Line.
Ending point is Tim Horton's at HWY 20 & Mud St. in Stoney Creek.

2. Stoney Creek to Cayuga via HWY 56 - Meet 12:00 PM, Depart 12:30 PM, 44.4 km, 55 minutes
We exit Tim Horton's with a right turn on to Mud St.

That should give plenty of time for people to catch up.
We should get to the track by 1:30 or so. Is it too late?

Hopefully the changes to the route from last year will mean less problems at intersections.

Everyone please follow proper cruise etiquette. This means you are to keep track of the car behind you. If you lose sight of the car behind you, pull over so they can catch up.
It's not a race, so lets try to keep together
