I am just curious other then the 4g63 what can be swapped into a talon esi or eclipse rs/gs? I have seen someone swap in a engine from a chrysler sebring i think it was a v6 i dont remember 100%. How about the p/t cruiser or the neon srt4 they look the same to me just that it is 2.4L turbo aka stroker and the exhaust is on the back side and the intake is on the front. Can those be swapped in, if not what else can be swapped in if there is anything else. Thanks sam.

Ya i know im just curious what can fit in and actually work with little to no mods.
And afterall wouldnt the srt4 be better power wise compared to the 420a or if built right there equal?

Why not just sell the Eclipse and scoop up something that already has a 4g63?
I was in the same boat as you like 4-5 years ago.
I bought my ESi because the price was right and it was in good shape. I joined this forum and learned that they came turbo/AWD, so I was a little jealous and wanted to turbo mine, or swap in the 4g63.
Realistically, you can swap almost anything to any car, with the right amount of fab work. The other things to consider are all the stuff over and above the motor you'll have to source/convert/remove/replace.
Once you see it on paper, I'm sure you'll change your mind.
I had everything priced out to rebuild my 420a so I could turbo it, once I saw what the price was up to, it made more sense to just use that money to buy something turbo and/or AWD already.
Currently, my N/A is a reliable daily driver. Kept up with regular maintenance, etc, and she's been good to me.
Save your money, and just buy a turbo/awd car.
If you decide to take on any sort of swap, best of luck.
Just my .02 cents as a fellow N/A owner...

I'll chime in on this one too, and agree 100% with Jay. I bought the ESi back in the day, because I was in love with the Eclipse body. I didn't know much about cars at the time, so I didn't know they came in turbo, all wheel drive models. Otherwise, I would turn back time and get the turbo one instead. That being said, my ESi IS a reliable daily driver, and I don't think I'll ever sell it. I too wanted to turbo my ESi, but in the end was a lot less hassle and money to just buy a TSi AWD.

Ya i was the same way i fell in love with the eclipse since i was 12 and i said thats the car im getting. I finnaly got it wen i was 17 and there after found out there was a turbo model :@ lol, but i love every minute of driving and working on her. we have been through alot including one of the wheels just flew off because all the wheel bolts just snapped and the tire and rim landed like 20 feet away bouncing and rolling lucky there was no one around to get hit an i was just goin like 40km i replaced all the studs right there 15 minutes later. But ya as for saving to buy a turbo car and keeping my eclipse as a dd im planning on getting a turbo one by the fall season. I am in the cross roads right now im doing a butt load of research and i have came down to 2 cars that i am thinking about but which ever i get its going to be a 5 year project to be compltetely done if less then so be it . 2g eagle talon tsi-GT35R-450awhp+ or lexus is300 2jzgte single turbo 6speed getrag conversion-500+Hp not a dd And as for my rs if i keep her il keep her looking pretty with a complete 2gb eclipse conversion with rims and a paint job.
