Looked like an awesome time! I really wish I could have been there, but I am glad that at least I had a part in setting this up!
Such a good sight though, to see all those gorgeous DSMs. Love to see it!

I just woke up from my nap...
Awesome turn out guys. Great to see a lot of you and meet you in person.
Thanks Joe E. for getting me there after I got lost.
I've got a bunch of pictures, but I'll just post the few video clips I had.
My camcorder died so I couldn't take a lot of video, but I have some good shots.
Definitely need to plan another one, hopefully more people's cars will be ready, including mine!
Hell of a day though, we've all got the sunburns to prove it.

Definately a really nice turn out indeed! I wasn't racing, but watched a few of you guys go down the track. Best I saw was a 12.7. I don't think I have ever seen this many DSM's cruising together at once on the highway A nice site indeed! Who ran the 12.7, was it Paul P?

It was a great day! I am in pain today from the sunburn, but well worth it! Nice to meet a lot of people I had just known by name from here. Nice to put faces to the names. I do have a couple of thoughts, though:
I think to try to plan another event this year would be a disaster. These things need some notice, and people need to arrange work schedules, holidays, etc., etc. Very few people are able to attend every planned event, so they pick and choose. This was a big one, and a LOT of people made it. I would guess that if there was another one in a month or two, a lot of the people who made this one would NOT be able to juggle everything for a second time. The other thing, if they are too often, they are no longer "special". I know I made this one, and I am planning to go to the Ohio shootout, but that is probably about all I could manage.
I would suggest instead to start planning one for NEXT year.
I rode in a bike club for a good many years, and know a little about travelling in a large group. From what I heard, there was insufficient time allowed at the stops. When you have 20+ people together, it takes a bit of time to get EVERYONE ready to go. Also, 30+ vehicles is TOO big a group. You will NEVER all make it through lights, etc. It is also very unfair to OTHER traffic that has to wait for a large group like that to go by. It should then be broken up into two smaller groups .....say 15-20 vehicles TOPS in each group. Having FRS front and rear of each group is a good idea, but the MAIN thing is people need to learn that you don't worry about keeping up with the guy in front of you...you worry about not losing sight of the guy BEHIND you. If the guy in front of you loses site of YOU...he is supposed to stop and pull over, and if everyone follows that rule, soon the whole group is stopped and pulled over. If the ones behind don't catch up...circle back, they must be broken down. That alone would avoid a LOT of confusion.
I guess it would have been nice to see some better runs, but it was great to see the few that did run. Also a bit of a reminder that 10's, 11's and 12's are not as easy as Reza and guys like him make it look. As someone said above, you have to start somewhere, and the goal is continuous improvement.
Again, thanks to everyone, especially the organizers, for a great day.

Lots of DSM's there! Mark, good to see you back on the track again!
I'd love to see another event! Even a Yorkdale meet day where instead of Yorkdale, we all headed to the track, that would be cool.

Well...I dont like excuses so I'll explain as best I can.
Its been 4 years since my last trip to the track. In that 4 years I have installed the following:
New Quatermaster twin disk New GT35R and tubular header New AEM stand alone.
The result for me is a car that is VERY different.
The run in that video was me "trying" to up the stutterbox rev limit. I did it wrong, and the car stalled when I got into the launch. I got that fixed up for the 12.7 run, but then it went downhill again.
I've learned that 434HP at the wheels means jackshit when everything else doesn't work quite right :-)
I need a peaceful day at the track, not so busy. Peckerhead shootout anyone? YES!

We should definitely keep the Invasion as a once a year thing. Lets make it every year, the weekend after July 1st?

nothing like having a brand new top of the line tranny leak (hopefully just axle seal).
I would assume they used new axles seals. Maybe one of them got nicked or torn when you were putting the axles in. Pretty easy fix, and shouldn't be too hard to pinpoint a tranny leak. I'd assume that since it was a brand new tranny (not a rebuilt), they'd use new seals Just noticed the leak the other night when I was under there doing other things & on a gravel driveway at night wasn't the best time to track down the source. Think its the seal for the drivers side intermediate shaft, based on where most of the fluid is located. I'm pretty sure I didn't nick the seal but I did notice this one seal seemed to be a different style then the typical axle seal I'm use to (this one looked like a big o-ring/donut) & it did seem pretty lose when I installed the shaft. So hopefully an easy fix, now I guess I'll let everyone get back on topic
