In saying that, I'm up at 2AM enjoying a bowl of cereal taking a break from working on the car. I've just lost a make-or-break snap ring somewhere in the shop as it went flying when it slipped off the end clutch piston return spring.

So in the next 24 hours, I've got to do the following:

Install Meth
Install fuel pump
Bolt everything back up
Tune

Should be able to make it.

Those guys who arent coming because their cars arent ready: shame on you! This is an EVENT. Enjoy the EXPERIENCE! Take pleasure in the company of DSMers and in the cars of others. My own DSM is still nowhere NEAR ready (hasn't run yet this year), but I wouldn't miss this for ANYTHING.....well ALMOST anything. If my son or wife was in hospital, I would be out. I sure wouldn't miss it just because my vehicle isn't ready.

I was looking forward to the scooter ride..I have only been out on it ONCE so far this year...but it was suggested I bring a bunch of parts, so my JEEP is crammed full.....but I wouldn't let the fact that I cant ride my scooter keep me from going...

I know it is already too late for the Sudbury guys to change their minds...but I am officially (in my own mind at least) admonishing them here anyways.

I am sure you would have kept up just fine.

Now if you said I made that long drive less than a week ago, and twice in a week is too much, THAT I would understand....but to back out because you would have to go in the "wrong" car? Not the right choice in MY opinion..

+1 I can't believe my car failed even before making it to the pre-mississauga meet. wtf!!! I failed even before making it to the track, which I guess is good thing .

So heres my stupid failed invasion attempt:

Left at 8:30 to be at the meet @ 9:00, also needed to get some gas on the way as there was none sitting there over winter.

As I left home all the way down the street my new rim tire setup was rubbin so I turned around quickly to to switch out the ones that were rubbing with the old set. that toook about 20 mins. then i was able to go back out @ 8:50.

I was able to stop by sunoco to get some gas, filled it up with 94 and then headed out to the mississauga meet and I was thinking great I should make it, if not hopefully they'll wait a bit.

hit the highway (403), next thing I know I'm losing power and dies, car is sputtering power and i have to pull to the shoulder. pop the hood, everything looks fine, start the car again and it ildes. Now as I try to give more gas it dies or if I give gas slowly it revs up but once I take my foot off the gas it dies. Unbelievable!!! If anyone saw a early evo on 403 early this morning around 8:50-9:00 am it was me!!!!

So i mananged to get my car home and pull the plugs and I'm runing super rich (blacked out spark plugs) in addition I mananged to rip one plug apart so now I need some new plugs and wires. Ziggy send me some!

what a pre invasion experience!!! I've been looking foward to invasion for quite some time. In the last 72 hours or more I've only had a few hours of sleep each day getting the car ready for the road, and last night I didn't even sleep I pulled an all nighter .

sorry for the rant, but I hope everyone had a great time,I did my best in efforts to make it out but someone really didn't want me to attend..... hopefully there will be another event like this that I will be able to attend if my car doesn't blow up on me.

That sucks Ben Sorry to hear that! At least you got to try to attend ffaacckk, I'm mad. We will definitely have to try for an early Sept Invasion, like the weekend before the weekend before school starts! Or maybe just keep the Invasion to a once a year thing, who knows.

I can't wait to hear peoples stories about the Invasion though!
