Might be a tight squeeze, these 1 car garages are really spacious, I'm telling you!

The forecast is changing dramatically. Sunny one day, rainy the next, so who really knows. I'm not too sure what kind of a rain plan we should have. We might just have to set a rain date for a month later?

I ordered the metal bushings from Shep last Tuesday so they should be here soon. Most of you are AWD, so unless it's a hurricane/monsoon/sick-joke-of-god, the weather really shouldn't be such a big deal!

Perhaps now is the time to plan out a nice route to bypass the QEW and make the cruise part more interesting. I'll volunteer to start mapping something out - there are lots of nice roads west of Mississauga into burlington. We could grab the 401 to the country and then head south to the track.

I don't even want to think about the complexity of having to re-organize such a big event. Lets stay the course, please.
If it gets rained out, we'll just have another T&T event to plan - but consider the cruise a done deal.

Maybe we should just have an alternate indoor destination if it's raining, so we don't all end up at the race track with nowhere to park/chill and no racing to be had.

My suggestion: GO KARTS in Hamilton. We did it on the Peckerhead shoot-out snow-day a few years back, and it was a blast! tu

That it was. I'd definitely be up for that.

So we make this a rain/shine event?

Things aren't looking so good for me. My ECU won't be here in time, neither will DSMLink.

Start planning the route then Rob laugh Like I said, I've got no clue on that area, as I've never been to Cayuga.

Weather is looking better and better for that day smile I told you I would call in a favour!

If I can get the exhaust to bolt up I will be good to go for sunday. But I only have 2 days left to work on it and get a temp. I will be down rain or shine as long as the talon grumbles and doesnt sound like ass.

Where will you be coming out in Hamilton? I'm not that familiar with Hamilton at all but I know some of the streets in Mike Lanes area (Haldimand Road etc..) Maybe Mike could lend us a hand getting from Hamilton to Cayuga on "Scenic" roads?

OK, hopefully this is clickable...

Fun!

It might be too complicated and if one of the roads are out, we're screwed! crazy
I should test it out, or maybe make it more simple and test it out.

The fun part is between Tremaine Rd. and the 403.

That's an interesting route...hitting Britannia 3 times, lol.

I'm good for whatever, even if I get lost, I'll just GPS my way back to you guys.

We should swap numbers at Yorkdale so in the case that someone is lost, they can make it back to the group.

Yeah, Britannia isn't so straight. Lots of hills though!

More simpler route.

This one also goes along the escarpment, but joins the 403 soon enough to get the QEW and then the regular 20/56 route to Cayuga.

I'm going to try and score a video camera for the cruise, and anyone who has one, let me know.

In regards to getting some footage for a Club DSM Canada video, we're going to need a way to plan a few shots.

A few drive-by's will be nice, and if I can get ahead of the pack a bit, I'd like to get a good shot of a bunch of cars coming around a corner or something.

Let's put my 2 years of TV Productions to good use..... rotate

I'm gonna be recording pretty much the entire cruise. And then whoever runs at the track I'll record. As well.
I figure when we leave york dale, and when we leave from where ever we stop to take some individual pictures of our cars is a good area to get some corner / straight away shots.

Fine with what ever route as well. I'm doing a sh!t load of driving that day, damn. I thought about staying in Kitts and meeting you guys at the track, but I don't want to miss the cruise lol.

So Yorkdale for around 9:30am?

my assumption was 9am at Yorkdale, heading out at 9:30am or so.

Also wondering if the train wants to make a quick stop at 403/Dundas Timmys as it's on the way, this way, we can collect some of the Mississauga/Oakville people. There is also a Sunoco by the QEW on-ramp here as well for those that want the 94 gas.

FYI, 403/Dundas ramp is approx 5 mins away from the QEW ramp, both merge together heading westbound within a few km from the ramp anyway so it doesn't matter which one we get on.

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&...mp;spn=0.01694,0.038495&t=h&z=15

A = Yorkdale Mall
B = Timmys
C = Sunoco

Just an idea

I say yorkdale and then call timmies people, and they can either drive 100 and wait for the convoy, or they can catch us. Another stop will just add to it. Lets keep it simple, I will be gassed up ready to go.
On the way back, bring some cash and get some indian gas for 80c. hehe

Doesn't look like the 95 will be ready.

I might just take my 97, but if everything goes as planned, I might have a special treat....Something that maybe only Brandon can appreciate..

Sorry East Oakville & West Mississauga people, but passing Dundas/403 will make for a really boaring cruise since it would be mostly highway and flat road driving from Yorkdale all the way to the track.

I guess there's Hamilton mountain to go up and down, but I'm not going to plan a route through Hamilton - that has disaster written all over it. Maybe someone else is more familiar with those roads.

Anyhow, you guys should just start at Yorkdale and run along the escarapment too tongue Have a mini-cruise from Timmies to Yorkdale ponder

Maybe two stops along the route, then? One in Milton and one in Stoney Creek? That cuts the route into three legs.
Oakville people go a bit west to meet up, Hamilton people a bit east.

Hey Rob, the route you plotted looks good!

A few suggestions in the Milton area... instead of taking Tremaine south for that section (Steeles -> Derry), try to scoot over to Appleby line. Coming down from Rattlesnake piont there's a fantastic low speed double switchback there, on one of the steepest grade roads in Ontario.

Also, FYI, at the corner of Steeles & Martin (just south of the 401) is an OPP station. They're generally unconcerned about modded cars (or maybe I was lucky when I lived there) but if you want to avoid it you could go north instead, turn left on 5 to pass Kelso lake and then down Appleby.

Very nice suggestions, Jeff!
I know those roads too - and now that you mention it, we run so close to Rattlesnake that it would be a shame to not go down the super-fun-hill rotate

New route.

Looking at the map, there is a Tim Hortins by the corner of Martin Street and Steels, just a bit south from when you guys get off the 401. Maybe us Mississauga/Oakville guys can meet the rest of you there?

I wonder if we would attract any attention from the OPP if we stopped there ...

Other than that I like the route Rob. We should stick with that. I'll be at Yorkdale, 9am.

Well this Timmies is actually on Market Drive which will be before Steels. Although I'm not familiar with that area at all so I don't know how close that is to the OPP station

I think that timmies is pretty busy and lacks sufficent parking.
How about the Canadian Tire parking lot at James Snow Pkwy & Steeles? It's right off the 401/James Snow Pkwy exit.

When I have a chance, I'll make three maps - one for each leg of the trip.
