Tashko you think i could get some pics of your template...im also looking to put something together in terms of a front splitter for my 1g
I'll dig it out of the garage on Weds. It's just a cardboard template, as Manuel says. My template goes to the edge of the stock 1ga lip.
I need to wait until all the 2009 rules are out and then I'll extend the lip out as much as I'm allowed. I think SCCA only allows 3" passed the fascia so it will probably be the limiting rule set.

a question for anyone with an answer ...but a splitter that covers a large portion under the engine bay what does this do for temperatures in the engine bay area when heats attempting to escape ?
It shouldn't affect the engine bay temperatures since it will vent under the car behind the undertray. If anything it might improve some since with nothing under there, there is a bunch of air being rammed under the car and it's turbelent which would prevent decent flow through the engine bay.

This might just win the award for most boring picture posting on the site. This is the basic outline of my splitter which stops just in front of the front axle line. The shape will change a bit depending on the rules since I made this last spring.
