Of course you can put a diffuser on a 1g. However, you shouldn't just add a diffuser, you need to balance the aero with a correct amount of front downforce by a splitter. Otherwise you'll just understeer more.

I plan on running aero on my car next summer and 1g's have a good rear rake which is nice for a diffuser.
