A few of my friends and i want to head up to Cayuga next weekend for test & tune. The track (strip) is open on the weekend through out November weather permitting. We were thinking of going Saturday November 10th, or if it rains then Sunday the 11th. Just wanted to know if anyone else would be interested...if so, we could all meet in the west end and cruise up together. Could be a fun day...

Well Helber's personal best was 12.9 coming into yesterday. Played with his tune a bit, 1st pass - 12.6 NEW PB Tuned some more, 2nd pass 12.2. Made a couple of changes, 3rd pass 11.9!!! The track wasn't prepped so he was spinning hard in 1st, so I lowered the tire pressure, took his 2-step down a bit and lowered his anti-lag accordingly, and also made a couple of tweaks to the tune, 4th pass 11.61@124 . His laptop died after that, so that was all the tuning I could do! He followed all that up with another 11.9 and a 11.69. Needless to say Helber was on cloud9. Congrats big guy, and welcome to the 11 second club!

Congrats big guy, and welcome to the 11 second club! Wow, talk about a huge improvement with just changing the tune. Was there any changes in boost? Was this on pump, pump & meth or race gas? What kind of traps was he seeing on his previous bests? Any before/after logs, would be interesting to see the difference. Kevin your going to have to get into the tuning business

A lot of credit has to go to Helber for his consistent driving, a car that worked well, and his trust in me! LOL. Of course I upped the boost, thats where he had to trust me, lol! The battery died before I could start getting aggressive with the tune. He was running pump/meth! As for logs, you'll have to ask Helber for them. I know that he has them saved. I'm sure he's also working on putting together some video for us! And as for tuning, I'm really interested in learning how to tune with AEM. I can't wait until Mike Degli Angeli gets his up and running!

Sounds good Mike. I take a large triple-triple if you forgot! Tim, just so you know, the cars at my place out in Oshawa. You're more than welcome to come over and lend a hand. Warning, I don't have a garage ,so we're looking to pull it as fast as possible! Don't want to be outside too long, LOL.

HMMMM, I don't know! The only thing I can think of is Mike's 1G isn't allowed to be exposed to the elements......OR maybe he's hiding the fact that he bought ANOTHER ONE! Last time we attacked a car, I'm sorry, tore down a car, we ordered a pizza, then went to the ATM, came back and then started pulling things apart. We were ready to pull the motor before the pizza got there . That was with Raf, Helder and myself working from different angels.

Wow. That's brutal. Whats wrong with Mikes garage? Tim, I'll save the favor when we need to pick the motor in the car in the spring. We're just doing a quick pull of the motor wednesday.

Hopefully the other DSM will have 4th gear again soon ;-) I had a great day. That BMW driving school instructor was Extremely helpful. I just went along for moral support and Ended up on the track for like 2 hours. It was COLD as Hell though.
Worst DSM'er Ever, Haven't had a DSM for 6 years.

Way to go Helber! What a surprise, you were happy with mid 12's, but you ran mid 11's, lol. Welcome to the 11's club Hmmmm, I wonder if Helder will get into the 11's too this year

Congrats buddie, I knew your beast could do it. Also congrats to Kevin and Reza, that car is unbelivable, 11's with a 16G. Who would've thought?

Ahhh... finally got to see Kevin's car in action.. not just hear stories about it.
WELL some nice vids there. Reza you have a mean car. Very nice IMO.
Kevin... grassroots and all go. I'll give you that one.
Nice runs guys. I will probably be seeing more of you GTA folk next year, as Sudbury has... NO 1/4 mile tracks. Cayuga, St Thomas and S-Ville. The trick will be to drive the car home after the event.

Well that's good... What minor ones were there?

Hmmm, something still doesn't feel right. Oh yeah right, Helder still needs to crack an 11 as well too.

I hope to break 11's next year. I'm going the same route as Reza, E316G, Meth and cams.
Reza, if you break 10s and not blow your bottom end out, I'll be impressed. I'm sure those 15 year old pistons are getting tired.

Ryan, I find it very easy running 11's on the 16g now, so good luck! Remember I ran 11.85 on the stock cams, just crank up the boost and make sure the fuel is there. My bottom end is still good with perfect compression. 10's have been done many many times on the stock bottom end, so don't be too surprised Tuning is the key

You're right Reza... tuning is the key.
It's knock that will blow up your engine. If you have little/no knock, you're good. Oh.. ARP Head studs help as well.
You have a 255 pump right? I have bigger injectors than you, so I will have the fuel, plus -6AN tank-rail with HF filter, but only a rewired 190

Ryan, you should have enough fuel, especially with the meth. If I had known I was gonna push the 16g to its limits, I would have gotten 720's atleast. I have a set of ARP's and a Mitsu 4 layer head gasket, for when I want to push serious amounts of boost. They will be going in over the winter, with a nice freshening up of the motor.

Hmmm.... Maybe I'll be side by side with you guys on some 16G power next year.
Only upgrades to the car this year are cams (264 so I don't have to change my springs), Aluminum rad and possibly a bit of a wire tuck. I also have to install my meth and an IAT gauge.
We'll see what happens.
