Do you have dsmlink Greg? If so then you can take out a few degrees where its surging that helped a lot. I have my 280s in my 2.4 idling like babys .At 1050 or so. I can turn it down to hear more lope of course but really zero problems with them.
I liked 280s so much that bought this set of 280s for the race car but the race car don't have to do traffic. Hell I can set the idle at 1200 or whatever don't matter to me. See how it works out.

I am just wondering if left stock redline would I maybe be ok to run the cams with stock springs. Unless someone knows a spring tool that can work without pulling the head. I will pull the head next season. I have to do timing belt since my water pump just went and of course thats best time to do some cams.

Yup I have DSMLink.. but take out a few degrees of what and where? The timing adjustments are only applied for WOT conditions as far as I know. I'm going to give it a few days and see if it stabilizes. It idles best kind with the AC on (belt disconnected).

^^ Timing sliders are always in effect, only the fuel rpm based sliders are under WOT. As for my above post, there was a little typo, ISCposition should be around 30 at idle. What I shgould have said was LrnIdleadjust should be 140. Let it settle for abit at the desired idle rpm you want to run & then go from there by logging these values & see if you need to make some tweeks.

I had surge at low rpm like around 40km hr to maybe 50kmhr. I took out a couple degres of timing at those rpm ranges. It worked good for me.

I adjusted my BISS until it idled at 1k.. seems best kind now. I pulled out some timing and the cams became even lumpier.. adding a few degrees smoothed it out for me!
