After driving for a while if i touch the lugnuts on my car they're VERY VERY hot. Like almost too hot to touch.

Why would they do that?

your rim is hot too right?

If you use the brakes alot then that is alright but if not then your brakes are not fully disengaging.

Do this test

Start the car and drive it so you don't have to use the brakes AT ALL. that is some 1 Kilometre or more of driving with NO brakes, see if it heats up, it shouldn't!

After a normal granny style driving the brakes shouldn't be that hot either!(unless the driver is "hot" bird )

right around the lugnuts is hot yes, didn't check the rest of the rim though.
I did more or less that earlier, drove down the street to the gas station, they weren't hot. But driving further with lots of stoplights and whatnot and they were damn hot.
I"m an idiot and didn't realize till after i posted that brakes = friction = heat

Hot rims (especially around the centre) can be a sign of a bad wheel bearing too.

Sounds like brake heat though.

Check to see if the brakes are dragging. I had two rear calipers siezed on my old NT (both 1/2 way in the bore). They didn't really effect driving (not that I noticed) but the rim would be cooking hot after driving on the highway.

i would change the brakes (at least inspect them) ASAP b4 they destroy the bearings.

The rims dont get hot, just the lugs. If just for a short drive without much braking they dont get hot at all.

And the lugnuts are directly onto the bolts which come off the rotors, so it makes sense that they would heat up first, then start to transfer the heat to the rest of the rim.
