Hey Guys!

Ryan here, Pretty new to the DSM scene. I've had my 98 Eclipse for a few years now, maybe put 1500 KMS on it since I bought it. Been slowly getting it up and running right by doing all the preventative maint. Just recently started working on it again after letting it sit for a year - so ill have lots of questions to fire at you guys..

Recently moved to Calgary from Edmonton so if there's any fellow Calgarians here, id really be interested in talking with you guys.

Later,

Ryan

So when I bought it, there was this hideous body kit on it so the first thing I did was find a stock rear bumper at the pick n pull and ordered a new bumper & headlights (black), the picture as you can see, shows the stock unpainted front bumper on because I couldn't wait to get that POS off.. the side skirts are still on, and need to go.. it appears that the stock ones are underneath (And I sure hope so, or else I will have to try and find em) It was originally red, now black and in dire need of new paint.

My primary focus has been on the mechanical though, because like Ricky Bobby - I just wanna go fast.

Well.. It looks like it was cared for..at least. I mean lots of DSM's have made their way to the crusher by now.

Any engine bay pics?

Mods?

Thanks for all the welcome messages guys!!

The previous owner did manage to keep it from the crusher, but I don't think he took very good care of it judging by the condition it was in when I first got it. Im pretty sure the condition I found it in is pretty close to crusher condition. What saved it is the fact that ive been in love with these cars since I was young and ALWAYS wanted one.. Hoping that with everyone's knowledge and expertise, I can bring it back to its former glory and perhaps even better mwahhaaha

When I bought it, the head gasket was leaking and the guy had removed the cat back exhaust that he had on it previously and just left it.. Other than that it was pretty stock with the exception of some tein lowering springs and bilsteins.

I immediately had the top end rebuilt (didn't feel confident enough to do it myself) and replaced the water pump, belts..everything. replaced valve cover (old one cracked), new plugs, wires.. Got it back on the road and my slave sh!t the bed. So that needed replacing. THEN, the stock turbo went on me.. Its been sitting since.

I had also installed megan racing coilovers and the 19" tsw nurbergring wheels.. strut bars..

Today, where im at with things, I have found a evo1 16g turbo and bought a punishment racing fmic from ziggy. Still need the remaining supporting mods to get it back up and running.

Welcome!

Not crazy about 19" wheels on these cars, but the rest of it seems like a good plan. Nice that you're taking good care of it.
