Hey im currently building a motor and was looking to see what some of you guys are running for a built head. The engine is a 6bolt tsi.

The bottom end will consist of.
Ross racing pistons .20" 8.3.1
H beam Eagle Rods
ACL trimetal Main and Rods.
balance shaft removal.
all machine work.
ARP head studs, metal head gasket.

Mods are
evo 3 turbo ported
FP race mani
ported o2 housing
850cc,
walbro 255hp
3inch turbo back cat delete.
SSauto chrome FMIC
1g blow off dodge modded.
ECM link
AEM wide band
voodoo boost controller
k an n
Meth injection

I will be running a bigger turbo when i get more cash, was thinking of going with FP 30502. Will be running around 25-30psi on the turbo.

So i need some suggestions on the head, what type of valve springs are you guys running, retainers, valve guides? Thanks.

Brian Crower valve springs and retainers, maybe 1mm oversized valves.

Other than that, the stock 6 bolt head is good for 9's.

Ya, they actually say you can run the 272's on stock springs. For the 280's, you NEED the heavier springs.

I run Crower springs / retainers. I rev to 8500 at the track. I'm running HKS 272's. THey will be fine for you. Leave the rest of the head stock. I personally like 2G heads, and that is what I run. But that is a whole nother debate.

So yeah, some crower springs / retainers, and you should be set for plenty of mods to come.
