so i just got a quote back from a chrome shop in Toronto and I nearly shat my pants, they want $250 to do EACH intercooler pipe(I have 3) and $800 to do the valve cover. Does this seem ridiculous to anyone else? If you know of anywhere to get steel pipes chromed for a REASONABLE price please let me know. and if this price is typical I may have to reconsider what to do with the things...
cheers

Generally with the Valve covers we polish them and the Intercooler pipes, either painted or powdercoated "Almost chrome" PPG might chime in here as well though, but that price quote does seem a little steep.

I've used a place called New Toro. Its at Keele and the 407. They do cash stuff, but his minimum is $200. You won't wanna do the valve cover, cause chrome plating aluminum is extremely expensive. So much so that even I won't do it
Would powdercoat be safe to spray inside the pipe? the heat and such may cause it to flake off and go in the intake? I"m just worried about the pipes rusting from the inside.

It is perfectly safe to do it. i typically would not powdercoat the inside of a pipe anyways if i were to do it. it is almost impossible to get powder into the inside of a pipe past the first couple inches.
pieces would not fall off and go into your intake. it goes liquid at about 350 degree f.

Depends on the shop. Its usually just as much as any other powder coat colour I believe. The place I know in belleville wanted the same price for Red as that colour.
