I am undertaking replacing innner/outter tie rods on both sides of my 2G Spyder

doesn't look like rocket sience.

any tricks to them?

A good penetrating oil. Have them soaked in for at least a couple of hours.


I almost forgot what 2nd and reverse gear feels like.

You need a special tool to unbolt the inners rods. Basically its a half open nut so that you can go over the rod to reach the bolt.

Crappy Tire lends that tool...
Big tube that you assemble over the inner tie rod. Hex on one end, socket on the other.

Matt,

Also when you buy your parts make sure that you buy them with grease pins. Some of the cheaper brands will come sealed and they do not last as long.

If I known that you need them I could have thrown them in with the wheels. I get these parts really cheap, and since its a small item I could have attached them with the wheels.

I got the outters with grease pins, and a lifetime warrenty!!

I priced up the parts at mitsubishi and they wanted $79 each for the outters, I got 2 outters and 2 inners for $150 from Napa.

Not sure if I am just stating the obvious but you have to do an alignment afterwards (there are ways you can do this in your drivway if short on $$)
