I have come across a sweet deal on a 2g with a blown motor, I have a 1g motor that still has some life. Is it possible to put my 1g Tsi A/T motor in a 2g ES with M/T? or would the logistics cause more grief than I need right now?

The logistics would cause mucho grief. The engine in the 2G NTs is totally different from the 4G63, which means you'd eseentially be dropping the motor into a chassis it wasn't meant for. The mounts would be different, the accessories would be different, etc.

Remember, a 2G NT has a neon engine, totally different kind of monkey.

$700? If it's not in Ottawa I'll come get it and treat it as my toy/learning tools.

Robert,
I sent you an email about the car. I'm really interested as my car is wrecked and my engine is the only thing that is good. Let me know. Thanks in advance. Lucy

James,

I am not selling it, I was going to buy it. I posted the add to share with everybody. It would cost me too much money to convert/swap/rebuild so I am out. It is not my car, I guess by posting this here his inbox must be getting full! The car is located in Renfrew Ontario.

1G NT is a 4G63 very similar to the turbo engine.
2G NT is a 420A. They are not interchangeable by any reasonable stretch of the imagination.

Nope, totally different. 420A - Chrysler, 4G63 - Mitsu

That is only a comparison of the Chrysler engines, that does not include the 4G63

1990 TSi AWD - Parked since I bought it (Jan24/03)
Had it out one day, and busted the trans.
