Hey, I just bought some KYB AGX and Eibach Sportlines for my 1g fwd. I'm just wondering if my camber will be ok? Basically, after I have them installed, what will I need to do? Also, how much does it usually cost to install a set of springs/shocks/struts/ onto a car and how long does it take?

Usually Sportsline will create camber wear problem (compare to prokit) At least I had that on my 2g... You need a camber wear kit to correct that. If someone here can confirm that you will have camber wear, you should get the kit and install them all together to save time and money. wink

You'll definitely need a camber kit with the Sportlines

I was told that a camber kit was not that necessary on a 1g as it only lowers the car about 1.5inches, while on a 2g it lowers about 2 inches. Can someone confirm that this assumption is right? If I really do need camber kit, other than unevenly worn tires, what else could be a problem?

For a fwd? you could get camber adjustment plates for the front, not a whole lot changes out back.

Isn't that bad enough? The inner side of the tires will wear our much faster than what it should be. You will feel the pain when you see lot of tread left outside, but need replacement because the inner wear out. wink

If you lower the car, do it the right way. wink

Go to CT and rent their Strut Spring compressor tool... you pay full price for the item (135 tax incl.) but when you return it 3 days later you get all your money back, saves you from having a shop do it. Plus, you will get a chance to tune your camber and strut dampening force to your preference. I did this when I installed my struts because I couldn't afford $60-$70/hr for labour.

Struts really aren't hard to do at all, but you will need an alignment (another 50-70 bucks!!!!)

I did them and i didn't even use the compressor

cause the springs are shorter its easy you have to squeeze like about 3/4 a inch , to a inch

mine were used though.

I'll just have to corner harder to wear out the outside of the tires to make it even. laugh

It's kind of hard with the Sportsline, trust me, I tried. tongue

I regret I didn't adjust the camber until I wear out my first set of summer tires in couple of months. frown

Stu, do you have an AWD or FWD? The AWD is supposed to lower the car 1.8" while the FWD kit lowers it only 1.5".

Manuel, do you have a 1g or 2g?
