First off, I should say hello to everyone since I'm a "newbie". I've been visiting this site so frequently lately, I figured it's time I registered. Anyway, my question is regarding the stiff shift kit from Extreme Motorsports, not to be confused with the Symborski shift kit from Mach V. I bought it from a guy in the states with no instructions. It's supposed to go in the cable assembly just above the transaxle, but I can't seem to find a place for it. Extreme's site says it replaces the four rubber bushings in the cable assembly to remove the "rubberiness" when you shift. It's a single cnc machined piece of aluminum with two holes drilled side by side. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. [Linked Image]

Dude! Whats up?

Generally, all the shift kits I've seen (or taken part in installing) replace the 4 rubber bushings under the shifter base plate.

I'd say pull the console apart, but you DEFINATELY don't need to do it in your case, and take a look. The shifter base is held by 4 bolts, with bushings around then. Take a look there.

I don't think that's what he's talking about, Darin...

Ummm, could it be a replacement for the shifter cable bracket on the tranny?

Yeah, it kinda looks something like that. I'll just have to get a better look without the plumbing in the way. Thanks.
