Hey all,
So I've nearly completed my first engine overhaul, and have most everything together again. The trouble I've run into now is that many of the smaller tubes running around on the passenger side from the throttle body to below the intake mani. and to the camshaft angle sensor have broken as they're rotted and old. So now I don't know where they all go!
Does anyone have a good photo or diagram of where all these little hoses go? My car's a 1G N/T.
If you don't quite understand what I mean by little hoses, they're the ones that have red, yellow and green lines on the sides of them, and slide over their out/inlets.
Thanks a bunch,
Dan
PS I'll snap some photos later tonight to better describe the hoses I'm referring too.

90 or 91+ NT?
Red -> purge canister Yellow, Green -> EGR
It should make sense when you look at the lenghts of the vacumn hoses.

Cool......it's a 1990. I have to be honest, I dunno what any of those things are though, and the hoses are broken so...yeah. I've up'd photos ( http://photos.cjb.net/LaserHoses/ ) so maybe you could tell me where each hose should go? Ciao, Dan

This is from memory so it might be a little off ( I have to check the manual when I get to work today)
Green -> thermostat housing (the plastic valve/T) Yellow -> goes to your EGR valve Red -> either to your purge canister and purge solinoid (that doohicky on the firewall)

Hey all, So I was hoping someone could help me out? Anyone? I really want to get this car back on the road, and really all I need help with is what hose goes where. Could somebody please give me clear directions, from one end of the hose to the other? What exactly ARE these hoses anyway? If you'd like, you could simply add comments to the photos at http://photos.cjb.net/LaserHoses/ Thanks in advance, Dan

I'd suggest you look at the vacuum diagram here: http://www.taboospeedshop.com/emissions.htm and cross reference the part names with the visual engine primer here: http://members.shaw.ca/dsm.1000q/Engineprimer/1G/index.htm The good news is that the car will probably start and run even if you get it pretty wrong. The key is having the lines running to the turbo's wastegate actuator, the fuel pressure regulator, and that there aren't leaks.

Well, I don't want to get myself into trouble by saying they aren't important, but the hoses (with the exceptions of the ones I mentioned before) mostly go to emissions related systems. Many people (for offroad use only of course! ) simply block off those ports and remove those hoses so they can disable and remove those emissions related systems. That process is described on the taboo site that I linked to. If you wanted to, you could do the same just to get the car started and running, but ultimately you'd want to get them routed correctly for street use. I'm not sure if the hose routing is the same for an NT, minus the turbo related hoses, but I would think so.
