Hi all. I have a 92 NT FWD.
I noticed blueish smoke coming from my exhaust, and it's constant...after a while. I park inside a garage, and in the morning i don't notice any smoke, but later as i'm driving and stuck in traffic, i can see the smoke floating around the car. I know it was coming from my car as i stepped out to check.
I had an oil change recently, and after 3 weeks the oil went down to the lowest marks on the dip stick. I placed newspapers on the ground of the garage, but I don't see any oil puddles.
I got advice from a couple shops saying first check the compression. They said could be valve cover, valve gasket, valve stem, or cylinder ring. They say the cylinder ring would be the worst as it would cost $2000 or so to fix. Noooooo!! Can somebody offer some further advice??

It sounds like your rings. If it was stem seals, it would smoke alot on first start up
1990 TSi AWD - Parked since I bought it (Jan24/03) Had it out one day, and busted the trans.

As for $2000.00 though, that is definitely on the high side considering you can get an entire engine for about $1500.00.
