Hello all,
So I got my Buschur uic pipe and Greddy Type S installed last night.:DLooks sweet as hell.My question is after I let off the gas, I feel this kick back or surge, and I'm guessing it's cause the bov isn't letting that extra boost out and it's surging at the compressor wheel.:(The idle is high as well, around 1100rpm. Any guess as to why it might be doing that? The valve releases well between shifts and it's only when I am just letting off the gas that I notice this. The Greddy is quite an old unit, black top style before they came out with the purple version.I'm gonna rip it apart the check the rubber diaphram for tears.A few things to mention, I reset the ecu, am running stock 10psi and do not have the lower nipple on the valve hooked up. The adjustment screw on top is almost backed out all the way. As always, all suggestions are appreciated.Thanks.

Are you venting to the atmosphere or to the intake?

It's recirculating back into the intake. All the clamps are tight. I'm gonna hook up the lower nipple to see if it will help.

Is it an adjustable unit? If so it might need to be adjusted to the proper vacum level for it to work on your car.

Yes, it's adjustable. The screw was almost backed out completely, which I would think means it's set at the lowest pressure to open easier. That would contradict the symptoms, no? It's almost like it needs to be set softer. My buddy tightened it up this lunch hour, but there's too much traffic downtown to say if it made a difference. Besides that, I've read on a vfaq for the Greddy Type S install that mentions if you don't use the lower nipple, don't bother adjusting the screw cause it won't make a difference. Is this true? The vfaq description said to leave the screw set at about half way in. Not too sure about how accurate that is.

I know ya said that the connectios are tight, but it really sounds like a vacuum leak to me.

You should test the BOV with a vacuum pump and vacuum guage. Compare its behaviour (ie. what vacuum diaphram opens) with the stock BOV which you still have (right? laugh ). Hopefully, you can adjust the Greedy unit to match the stocker.
